Often times, women affected by domestic violence do not leave their abuser for fear of retaliation on their beloved companion animals. This partnership is a way to provide a safe haven not only for them, but for their pets as well.

Color Wheel Paint and the Sanford Rotary partner with SafeHouse to remodel the Harrington House: The Harrington House provides housing for women transitioning from shelter to self sufficiency.


Progress Energy at SafeHouse on 9/23/2010

Employees from Progress Energy in Heathrow, FL volunteered a day of service to SafeHouse of Seminole on September 23rd. Our friends weeded and prepared our garden for a winter planting, pressure washed the stairwells, and repaired outdoor furniture making it usable again! How did we get so lucky to have such

Mr. Handyman donates a day of handyman services on 9/10/2010

George, from Mr. Handyman, spent an entire day taking care of handyman chores around the SafeHouse property! Repairing the playground, fixing the children’s rain tree, and nailing down boards on the deck are just a few of the wonderful projects Mr. Handyman tackled this day – thank you Mr. Handyman for all your hard work!

Progress Energy at the Rotary-Harrington House on 9/18/10

Employees from Progress Energy in Heathrow, FL donated their Saturday on September 18, 2010 to spruce up the Rotary-Harrington house and help prepare it for the upcoming paint day! Member of Progress Energy brought in cleaning supplies, cleaned the interior and exterior of the home, and hauled off a lot of yard debris making this lovely home livable again – thank you to all our friends at Progress Energy!

After fund raising for four months (May-September) Troop 849 Scouts raised over $600 thru car washes this hot summer and their other acts of kindness.

The Scouts and their parents arrived at the French Street location on Saturday, 9/11 for this Community Service project.They pulled weeds, cut the lawn, trimmed bushes, planted blooming flowers in new containers by the entrance; and laid fresh mulch – a Herculean task – and worked until everything was finished.

Spearheading the Troop’s Community Service Project has been Eagle Scout Carlos Rodriguez and his parents.
